Neck Firming And Toning Exercises For A Natural Neck Lift

Over time facial muscles lose elasticity creating wrinkles and age your appearance. Throat and neck muscles show age faster than the muscles on the face making it more challenging to treat those areas.

Many women opt for expensive and painful face lift surgery to firm their double chin and other sagging areas. For a cheap and pain-free neck lift, you can perform regular stretches and neck exercises targeting the areas.

Here are some neck firming exercises to help tone the neck and throat areas of your face.

Sit on the floor with your legs folded comfortably. Keeping your spine straight, tilt your head slowly backwards. Hold this position for the count of ten. Return your head to the upright position. Repeat this for five sets. You can feel the stretching in the jaw line.

While in the same position, relax your shoulders and look straight ahead. Slowly turn your head to the right so your chin is even with your shoulder. Hold this for the count of five.

Return to facing forward. Slowly turn your head to the left so your chin is even with your left shoulder. Hold for the count of five. Return to facing forward. Repeat this for three sets on both sides.

In the same position, keep your head facing forward and keep your shoulders relaxed. Tilt your neck to the right side. Hold for the count of five. Do this to the left side. Do this for both sides for three sets. You will feel the stretch in the neck areas.

While still on the floor, switch to the position of being on your hands and knees. Drop your head towards the floor keeping your neck, spine, and elbows straight. Inhale slowly. As you exhale slowly, curve your back downward while lifting your head upwards. Repeat these five sets.

Sitting on the floor in a comfortable position face forward. Tilt your head backwards slowly. Move your jaw up and down. Hold this position for the count of ten. Return to facing forward. Do this for three sets.

Use these exercises to tone and tighten the muscles in your neck and throat. Do them every day to build stronger muscles to create a younger appearance. You will see results with a few weeks when you are dedicated to performing the exercise daily.

To help increase your enjoyment of these exercises, add soothing music and burn incense or candles. The calming effects of the aroma will add to the calming affects to your mind and spirit.

When your body and mind is calm, you benefit more from all these exercise. Think of the healthy benefits the exercises and the peace of mind will provide you. The more you take care of yourself, the younger youll feel.

What Does a Neck Lift Cost? Doctor Answers, Tips

There are two procedures commonly referred to as necklifts:

1. submental incision, tightening of the muscle, removal of fat.

2. incision behind the ear into the hairline to attempt to tighten the neck. Often advertised as an alternative to a full facelift that is somehow beneficial because it can be performed under local anesthesia and is cheap. Patients getting only a minimal necklift often pay $4000.

You can see from this blog how satisfied many of them were with their results… not very. The reason for this is simple: the patients expected facelift results (clean necks and well sculpted jawlines) from a mini-lift.

Other sources of dissatisfaction are the great amount of pain they experienced because the procedure was performed under local anesthesia only, or the distorted appearance their faces now have.

Technically, a neck only lift is usually considered to be a procedure that is performed from incisions behind the ear and usually back into the hairline. The neck itself usually benefits somewhat. Because of the practitioners who often perform this procedure, the undermining is usually minimal and the scars are often unsatisfactory because they are closed under tension.

The jowls benefit minimally, because the incision stops at the earlobe. The face itself does not benefit at all. Some physicians refer to a necklift as a procedure in which an under the chin incision is made and liposuction along with some type of platysmaplasty (tightening of the platysma muscle), a wider, interlacing procedure for the submental area than the conventional corset platysmaplasty.

Costs vary greatly, but are often in the $7000 area including operating room expenses. Our version of this procedure is the Neck-Lace. This procedure is best for patients with a “bull neck” who don’t have a lot of looseness in their face. It does nothing to tighten the face and is not an alternative to a facelift. It is often performed in our practice in patients who have already had liposuction under their chins for a “double chin” who were unhappy, or as the first step in a face and necklift.

Although it is sometimes beneficial to perform a necklift alone in revision facelift surgery, we almost never perform the procedure alone because of the disparity it creates between the lower face (tight), jowls (minimal effect) and upper face (no tightening), resulting in a “strange” appearance.

An experienced facelift surgeon is technically able to hide incisions well. Therefore most experienced facelift surgeons will suggest to their patients to rejuvenate the entire face harmoniously, not just the upper face alone, or just the neck alone.

Costs for an accomplished facelift surgeon performing a face and necklift usually run $15,000 and up including operating room in an accredited facility or hospital and a board certified anesthesiologist.

The good news for the necklift patients who are unhappy, is that it is almost always possible to revise their lifts, hide their scars, revise their hairlines and earlobes, and create a fresh rejuvenated appearance while restoring normal facial architecture.

My diary of a neck lift: From sagging, to staples, to my son’s reaction –

The late, great Nora Ephron named her 2006 book of essays I Feel Bad About My Neck: And Other Thoughts on Being a Woman. These wonderful, reassuring conversations detail her concerns about such thingsas her neck, her breasts and how to deal with the chaotic contents of her handbag.

I am a huge Ephron fan. She knew among numerous other things exactly how I felt about my own neck. She started to feel bad about hers in her early forties. Anything you think is wrong with your body at the age of 35 you will be nostalgic for at the age of 45. She said.

That was me, but older. Just to be clear, I dont feel bad about my face. In fact, I feel pretty good about it. I have really good skin there, like my Mother who barely had a line on hers (I used to joke that I had my mothers skin on my face and my grandmothers skin on my neck).

Forget liposuction! This Belkyra injection will banish your double chin by ‘melting away the flab’ – The Sun

DOUBLE chin, turkey neck, wattle, gobbler – if you’ve got one, there’s a good chance you wear a lot of scarves and turtleneck sweaters all year round.

Perhaps you have considered liposuction, a neck lift, or one of the many miracle products on the market too.

Well, now theres a new treatment to add to the gamut of options available – and this one claims to dissolve chin fat permanently, with a simple injection.

“Compounded products for dissolving fat have been around for some time,” said Dr. Sarah Boxley.

“But the results we are seeing with this new product far outweigh anything we have seen in the past.”

Formulated in the States, Belkyra – known as Kybella in the US – has been under development for over a decade.

Belkyra, a synthetic version of deoxycholic acid, a substance your body produces to help absorb fats, is a prescriptive medication and an injectable treatment that destroys fat cells under the chin.

Clinical Nurse Injector Allison Ellison from Perth wellness clinic 5Glyde, has been treating patients with Belkyra and says demand is high for the treatment.

“Fullness under the chin is really common and seriously worrying for those who have it,” she said.

“Its right up there with lines and wrinkles.”

Dr Boxley agrees.

She said: “A double chin may seem trivial, but a recent study revealed that 67 per cent of adults loathe the fat beneath their chin.

“It is a hereditary condition that sees sub-mental fat exists below the chin.

“The face appears to blend into the neck that obliterates the jawline and any definition.

“Given a strong jawline is often associated with youthfulness, confidence and strength of character, it is a facial feature both men and women really want.

“Results with Belkyra, are similar to those achievable with liposuction,

“But without an invasive surgical procedure and with less downtime.

“It also has a knock-on effect, reducing early jowls and giving a more chiselled look to the jawline.”

But while the treatment may look like a miracle measure, the procedure isnt without risks.

Dr Gazi Hussain, Vice President of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, said the treatment could have serious impacts on other facial features if not conducted by a doctor with training in facial anatomy.

“The neck area is high risk,” Dr Hussain said.

“There are nerves in that area, and there are some large blood vessels and the jugular vein.

“Its not an area that should be treated by someone who doesnt have any knowledge of anatomy.

“If the substance is near the nerves, it can lead to temporary paralysis between six and eight weeks which can cause asymmetry or imbalance to lower lip movement.

“Reversing that effect can take many weeks, but if the person injecting has a working knowledge of facial anatomy it should be a safe procedure.”

A trained medical aesthetic clinician should carry out the 15-minute treatment.

“While most patients experience some discomfort, it only lasts for about 5-10 minutes,” Dr Boxley said.

“It takes two treatments with possible further treatments necessary should the desired outcome not be achieved.”

Since the treatment is spread over a number of sessions, the results appear gradually, which is ideal for patients who dont want a sudden and noticeable change.

“The amount of Belkyra that is needed per treatment, and the number of treatments, is dependent on the patient,” said Ellison.

“The cost for two treatments is roughly $2,500 (1,500) with possible further treatments necessary should the desired outcome not be completely reached after the second treatment.”

Certainly a considerable investment, but for those wearing neck scarves 24/7, one worth making?

Dr. Boxley said: “Essentially aesthetic medicine is about helping to improve a patients self-confidence and this is an exciting product that certainly delivers.”

LISA Appleton embraced her day at the race track by pouring her brand new curves into a racing jumpsuit for a day as part of the pit crew.

Theformer Big Brother contestantwas clearly keen to show off the results of her recent7,000 cosmetic surgery makeoverand even flashed her bra as she jumped into the all-in-one in front of the cameras.

Her cheeky attitude came front and centre during her day out at Oulton Park Circuit, and after getting into her tight hot pink gear she was shown the ropes by Motorsport driver Michael Bamber.

Lisa looked like she was having a blast having finally come out of hiding after undergoing a string of plastic surgery procedures for a brand new look.

Among the procedures she had done were a facelift, neck lift, eyelid fat removal and liposuction.

She dropped from a size 16 to size 12 as a result, but had to disappear from the public eye for weeks as her body healed from the treatments.

When she did venture outside or showed her face on social media, the star used a series of bizarre disguises to hide her transformation until it was ready to be revealed to the world.

This included a mummy-inspired wrap around her face and on one occasion a cardboard box with a face drawn onto it with eyeholes so she could see.

But now she’s back in action, the star embraced her freedom by hitting the racetrack for the day.

Speaking of her day at the races, Lisa revealed: “It’s awesome fun. The adrenaline rush! A hobby of mine, such a BUZZ. Get revving that engine!”

Before having the surgery, Lisa told The Sun Online she needed to go under the knife to avoid “looking like an old shrivelled testicle” as she grows older.

“Im having plastic surgery for myself and nobody else,” she told us.

“Im nearly 50, which is no age at all, but I want to keep hold of what Ive got.

Some people dont mind growing old gracefully, but I still feel young inside and I dont want to end up looking like an old, shrivelled testicle.

“Thats why Im having the work done now before the ageing process kicks in.”

Neck Lift in Denver with Dr. Wolfe and Dr. Vath

Home | Facial Rejuvenation | Neck Lift & Liposuction

When youthful, energetic women and men in the Denver area feel their sagging neck skin is sending the wrong signals, they often seek neck lift surgery in Colorado with plastic surgeons Dr. Wolfe and Dr. Vath. After all, you can keep up with the latest fashion trends, watch your figure and even color your hair to mask the gray. But a neck that could be mistaken for a “turkey wattle” is a sure sign of aging that’s pretty hard to remedy without expert help.

If you’re considering cosmetic surgery in Denver, you’re far from alone. In fact, a recent study performed at UCLA found that 70% of women and 40% of men are at least potentially interested in improving or rejuvenating their appearance through plastic surgery. As a society we’re living longer, healthier lives than ever before. It’s natural to want to look and feel great as long as you can.

So, why shouldn’t you explore the difference a neck lift makes for people just like you? Dr. Wolfe and Dr. Vath will educate you about the straightforward procedure when you request a consultation at The Center for Cosmetic Surgery in downtown Denver in the Cherry Creek area or just off the I-70 in Golden, Colorado.

The neck lift procedure, also called a “cervical tuck,” is similar to a mini face lift in Denver. It involves small incisions between the face and ear and at the hairlineincisions that heal quickly and leave scars that are normally quite inconspicuous. Dr. Wolfe and Dr. Vath remove fat, if necessary, and excess skin while tightening the muscles of the neck and lower face. The result? A smooth, graceful line from your chin to your collarbone and a clean, defined jaw minus bands of tissue, jowling and other saggy skin.

You don’t need to worry about ending up with an unnatural, “pulled” look. Your friends and colleagues may ask you if you’ve lost weight or otherwise comment that you look great, but chances are they will not suspect you’ve had surgery. You will still look like yourself, just energized and refreshed. You’ll actually enjoy seeing your profile in the mirror for a change.

Dr. Andrew Wolfe and Dr. Steven Vath offer a variety of facial plastic surgery procedures at The Center for Cosmetic Surgery in Denver. For maximum rejuvenation, many patients work with one of these Colorado plastic surgeons to develop a plan that combines a neck lift with other related procedures like:

Even if you choose to have a combination of facial procedures like neck lift and eyelid surgery in Denver, you should experience a few days of mild discomfort post-operatively. Your surgeon will remove your bandages a day or two after surgery. Bruising and swelling will peak after a few days, then subside within one to two weeks. You’ll be headed back to work, out to dinner and onto the tennis court sooner than you think.

For Dr. Wolfe and Dr. Vath, the goal with every patient is an end result that’s both rejuvenated and natural, with a recovery that’s short and easy to tolerate. They use the right combination of innovation and tried-and-true techniques and they achieve results that please their Denver cosmetic surgery patients.

This surgery is often performed on an outpatient basis and sometimes under twilight or local anesthesia. Denver plastic surgeons Dr. John A. Grossman and Dr. Philippe A. Capraro customize all neck lift procedures to address your unique physical characteristics and aesthetic goals.

Dr Grossman and Dr. Capraro will usually start with a tiny incision set in the crease beneath the chin. If necessary, an incision behind the ears will further define the neck and jaw line while hiding the scars from prying eyes.

During neck lift surgery, excess fat and skin will be removed. If necessary, neck muscles will also be tightened.

Often, Dr. Grossman and Dr. Capraro will recommend a facelift or liposuction in conjunction with your neck lift to provide enhanced results.

You will most likely experience some swelling and minor bruising following your surgery. This will gradually subside within two to three weeks. Pain and discomfort should be minimal and can be controlled with medication.

During the first week of recovery, you should limit yourself to light activity around the house. After the first week, you may resume more moderate activity, and you can return to work in approximately 10-14 days. However, it may be closer to three or four weeks before you can resume athletics or other vigorous activities.

NeckTite Offers a Safe and Proven Way to Non-Surgically Contour … – Benzinga

NeckTite is a marked improvement over older liposuction methods and is FDA-approved.

Colorado Springs, CO (PRWEB) August 22, 2017

Everyone wants to look as healthy and youthful as possible, but such a goal can often be thwarted by genetics, aging, and poor lifetime habits. It’s no secret that as one gets older, skin begins to lose its laxity and begins to sag and droop. This sagging can be exacerbated by genetics as well as factors within a person’s control, such as diet, exercise, and whether or not they smoke. Individuals often look to turn back the clock in order to feel good about themselves, but there’s also a financial consideration as well. Studies have shown that people with above-average looks will earn $230,000 more during the course of a lifetime than those in the bottom seventh grouping in regards to appearance. (1) One problem area that most people want improved as they get older is their neck. Fortunately, experienced cosmetic medical professionals, such as Dr. John R. Burroughs of Colorado Springs, have the recently FDA-approved NeckTite device to help contour the neck area by removing fat and tightening skin.

Having cosmetic work done to improve one’s appearance is becoming increasingly popular with every passing year. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons reports that there has been a full 115% increase in surgical and minimally-invasive cosmetic procedures since 2000. Overall, there were 15.9 million such procedures done in 2016, an increase of 2% from the previous year. (2) The neck lift is one such procedure that has proven popular with patients. There were more than 55,000 individuals in 2013 alone who chose to get their neck skin tightened to look better and younger. (3) The usual treatments for a sagging neck or double chin was either a neck lift or liposuction, but there are some drawbacks to both, such as cost and downtime. The average length of time it takes for someone to return to work after getting a neck lift is between 10 to 14 days. (4) However, there is now another option available. Highly trained oculofacial plastic surgeons, such as Dr. John R. Burroughs of Colorado Springs, are now using NeckTite to help reduce fat and contour the neck.

NeckTite has proven itself to be a tremendous procedure for removing unwanted fat from the neck area. NeckTite uses Radio Frequency Assisted Lipolysis (RFAL) to help patients achieve a better neck appearance. RFAL is a very versatile treatment that can work on many different areas of the body and helps improve skin laxity while also removing fat. Depending upon the body area in question, RFAL procedures are known as BodyTite, FaceTite, or NeckTite. Aesthetic plastic surgeons, such as Dr. John R. Burroughs of Colorado Springs, know that NeckTite is a marked improvement upon older liposuction methods. The main reason for this is that NeckTite melts fats, removes it, and tightens the skin within a single process instead of the multiple ones that older liposuction treatments had to do. This combination of steps makes the entire procedure go faster and cuts down on potential adverse side effects. In a clinical study for RFAL treatments on the neck and lower face, there were no adverse effects reported that required further medical or surgical intervention. (5)

Dr. John R. Burroughs, Medical Director of Springs Aesthetics, says, “NeckTite has several advantages over older treatments to improve the appearance and skin tone of the neck. One such advantage is that NeckTite is minimally invasive as it uses just a needle and the device, which is comprised of an internal cannula and an external electrode. There are no scalpels, stitches, or incision scarring with NeckTite as there would be with a traditional neck lift. NeckTite works by having radio frequency energy travel from the internal cannula to the external electrode, focusing said energy into the adipose tissue. This energy melts away fat and tightens the skin. The neck area becomes more toned after a NeckTite treatment as there can be up to a forty percent increase in soft tissue contraction. Another marked improvement over traditional liposuction procedures is that RFAL is extremely safe due to the fact that there are precise temperature controls which will shut down the production of energy as soon as the selected temperature is reached. This helps ensure the risk of burns is greatly mitigated. Personally, I love the speed of the procedure as fat destruction and removal are combined into a single step, and this reduced treatment time means that the patient will notice a marked reduction in post-procedural swelling when compared to older liposuction methods. The recovery time for a NeckTite procedure is also a good deal less than that of a neck lift. For patients that have much greater amounts of unwanted fat, they can undergo aspirational liposuction simultaneously with the NeckTite procedure.

RFAL treatments like NeckTite have been used around the world, and I’m extremely happy that it’s FDA-approved and now available in the United States. It’s a tremendous innovative leap forward in shaving years off one’s appearance through contouring the neck by removing unwanted fat and tightening the skin.” (6)

In the past, individuals who had issues with their necks, such as unsightly waddles of sagging skin, only had a few options available. The main treatment to turn back the clock for sagging necks was a neck lift, but such a surgery required a good deal of downtime and the risk of a number of potential adverse effects. Now cosmetic physicians, such as Dr. John R. Burroughs of Colorado Springs, have the FDA-approved NeckTite procedure that uses radio frequency energy to tighten skin and melt away fat in one simple step. NeckTite has proven itself to be both safe and highly effective, which is why more doctors are using it to treat their patients.

Bad news for BEARS: Eclipse slips lens – Conway Daily Sun

A view of the Presidential Range by the Bartlett B.E.A.R.S. (Balloon Engineer And Research Squad) taken at 80,000 feet during Monday’s partial eclipse. (B.E.A.R.S. PHOTO)

SWEDEN, Maine Space geeks throughout the United States shot footage of Monday’s eclipse and joining them locally were the Bartlett B.E.A.R.S. (Balloon Engineer And Research Squad), a club of local volunteers and students.

Amid the hoopla surrounding the eclipse Monday, the B.E.A.R.S. took to the stratosphere over northern New Hampshire for their fourth unmanned high-altitude helium space balloon flight.

While the team did not get shots of the eclipse from the stratosphere, the capsule did capture the darkish edge of the eclipse’s penumbral shadow, said B.E.A.R.S. co-founder Roger Marcoux of Bartlett.

“That would have required a more advanced camera with better filtration than we have, but we did get some great shots of the edge,” said Marcoux, 65.

The balloon and camera capsule were launched from a parking lot near Cannon Mountain Ski Area at 1:07 p.m., 12 minutes later than planned due to windy conditions.

It rose to a height of 85,000 feet, floating over Mount Lafayette in Franconia Notch, east toward Black Mountain in Jackson and Chatham/Stow, Maine, where, because of lack of atmospheric pressure, the helium-filled balloon burst.

It landed at 2:42 p.m., an hour and 35 minutes after launch.

“We used a little more helium than we had planned, because the winds at the start made it harder for us to accurately measure the neck lift of the balloon,” said Marcoux, co-operator of DragonFly Aerials LLC of Bartlett.

“The balloon consequently went up faster and burst 20 minutes earlier than we had expected, at about 79 minutes into the flight,” he said, noting the flight was expected to be 2 hours and 9 minutes.

After the burst, the balloon dropped at more than 100 mph once it re-entered the atmosphere. The parachute then opened, allowing it to gently descend at 16 mph, carrying the camera capsule. It ended up 44 miles from the launch site in a maple tree in Sweden, Maine, on the north side of Route 93 near Keyes Pond.

Using cellphone tracking technology, a video overlay/telemetry system and a standalone tracker, the team did its best to track it down.

Handling that task was a five-car caravan of volunteers led by Marcoux, 65, and club co-founder Bruce Consaul, 57, of Bartlett, accompanied by other space enthusiasts, including volunteer Justin Lipson of Fryeburg, Maine.

Lipson was once again given the job of scaling the tree to retrieve the capsule that carried three cameras and other equipment.

Volunteers included Mary Sheldon, Kevin Bennett and Tim Mommers, all of the MWV Amateur Radio Club; and B.E.A.R.S. members ninth-graders Brianna Consaul, Grace Ruddy and Nicole Lockhart and sixth-grader Martin Lockhart. Other students included ninth-grader River West, seventh-grader Ember West, and sixth-graders Noah Jacobs and Tristan Blake. Parents and grandparents participating were Morris West, Bill Lockhart, and Jim and Sue Walker.

A highlight of the caravan was a midday stop at the Conway Public Library’s eclipse party, which drew hundreds on Monday afternoon.

The team hooked up with B.E.A.R.S. volunteer Jim Pettengill, who had set up a tent there, where he based the crew’s ground station for tracking the flight and showed livestream video to eclipse enthusiasts.

En route to the capsule in Maine, they listened to broadcasts on NPR on their car radios, detailing viewers’ reactions to the eclipse in the path of totality from Oregon to South Carolina. They also occasionally stopped to view the partial eclipse themselves, using special ISO-approved glasses.

The flight was part of the worldwide Global Space Balloon Challenge, with 483 teams from 61 countries registered for the challenge. The B.E.A.R.S. won third place for photography for their April 2016 photo of the Earth’s curvature.

NASA also ran a high-altitude space balloon project with students in the path of totality during Monday’s eclipse.

Looking ahead to the April 8, 2024 eclipse that will put northern New Hampshire in the path of totality, Marcoux said the B.E.A.R.S. plan to record that phenomenon with upgraded technology. “Stay tuned,” he beamed.

The B.E.A.R.S. are sponsored by the Bartlett Recreation Department. For more, go to HighAltitudeBears on Facebook.
