Cryolipolysis and Fat Freezing Treatments | Body Catalyst

Cryolipolysis is a breakthrough, non-invasive procedure that uses a controlled cooling technology to permanently kill fat cells without surgery.

A targeted controlled cooling process using a special vacuumed applicator is placed onto an area of fat on the body and lowers the treatment area to -9C. Clinical studies show fat cells cannot survive at this temperature and so it effectively kills the fat cells underneath the skin, literally freezing them to the point of elimination. The benefit of this technology is that no other cells are affected; only the fat cells are frozen. The process sees the fat cells crystallize and die, and then naturally eliminate from your body. During the next few months, as those fat cells are naturally eliminated, your new body shape appears.

Could Cryolipolysis Be an Effective Treatment for Cellulite?

Cellfina is an FDA approved minimally invasive procedure that reduces the appearance of cellulite for at least two years on the buttocks and back of the thighs of women.

It works by releasing the internal bands that cause the cellulite dimpling and so we have not seen any fat atrophy. You should not see much of a difference with weight gain or loss but this also has not been studied.

Other areas of the body with dimpling, it is important to make sure it is truly cellulite before treatment.

It is common to have swelling bruising and firmness after the procedure. This can last for a few weeks.

It is different than Cellulaze which is a laser.

If you have had previous poor results with cellulaze, you can still do Cellfina.

Cellfina has shown 100% noticeable improvement and 96% satisfaction in all patients at 2 years.

Cellfina is designed to be a one time procedure.

It can be used on women with all skin types but caution should be taken if theres a history of keloiding.

It can also be combined with other treatments such as Thermi or

Ulthera if skin tightening is needed.

We have done Sculpsure and Coolsculpting if fat reduction is wanted, but its best to wait 3 months to see the results before proceeding.

It can also be done at the same time as other procedures such as liposuction and BBL or as a stand alone procedure in the office.

Since Cellfina outcomes can be based on technique and experience, please see a board certified plastic surgeon that specializes body contouring to see if Cellfina or other treatments are available to meet your goals.

Take care,

Dr. Schwartz

The Treatment Rooms, the first cosmetic clinic in south London … – Wandsworth Guardian

The first cosmetic clinic in south London offering hair transplant surgery has opened in Wandsworth.

The Treatment Rooms (TTR) opened this month in the heart of Putney and, as well as hair transplants, offers a range of cosmetic treatments to south west London.

According to International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery there was a 76 per cent increase in the procedures from 2006 to 2014.

Located on Upper Richmond Road, the clinic provides doctor-led treatments including hair restoration treatment and surgery, anti-wrinkle treatment, dermal fillers, cryolipolysis (fat freezing) and thread lifts.

Two great friends set up the business, Dr Dilan Fernando, 28, and Dr Roshan Vara, 27, and aim to provide a personalised experience working endlessly and intricately to ensure that everyones journey is a positive experience.

They say: Those who visit TTR can expect to be cared for by a team led by friendly, approachable doctors.

It is run by local doctors who want to make a difference to peoples lives and give back to the community in a positive way.

Meet the doctors

Both grew up in south London, Dr Vara in Kingston and Dr Fernando in Camberwell, and went to the same sixth form.

But it was only when they went to medical school together at Kings College London that their friendship solidified and they challenged each other to perform medicine and surgery to the best of our ability.

Dr Vara and Dr Fernando

They completed a medical elective in Sri Lanka and it was in August 2016, during their travels across the world, that TTR was born.

Dr Fernando was passionate about a career in surgery from a very young age.

He said: I had an interest in neurosurgery, chairing national organisations, publishing internationally and many other accreditations which stood me in good stead for a career in the area.

At the time, this seemed pretty set as the career path for me, and now I have left, I have surprised a lot of my friends, family and even myself.

He describes his decision to leave the NHS as a complex one.

He said: Its well known that there is a lot of strain on all staff within the NHS.

Whilst many of my colleagues were flocking to Canada, Australia and the USA, my focus remained here in the UK.

Dr Varas proposal to set up a clinic was timely, as it was an opportunity to keep my feet on local soil, whilst utilising my surgical skill set albeit for a different purpose.

Dr Fernando continues to work at his old Neurosurgical Unit, supporting his local hospital, while splitting his time to treat clients who attend TTR.

Dr Vara works full time at TTR.

Passionate about his field, he said: I have loved all facets of medicine- name any subset of the practice and youll find I have a passion for the science behind it and applying this knowledge to help others.

I never found myself bored as a doctor, but I always found myself wondering what I could achieve outside of the NHS.

I had found my passion in helping others but could not focus in on where I wanted to take my skillset.

It was not until Dr Vara had a close friend who had a bad experience with a hair transplant procedure that an idea sparked in his head.

He said: I knew I could provide a sterling service when it comes to a treatment.

I knew that performing a hair transplant procedure meant you would be giving back someones youth, their confidence and their sense of well-being.

I needed a colleague, a surgeon, a friend to help me realise this ambition.

Dr Fernando is the only person I can trust from both a surgical perspective and an ethos point of view.

His drive for surgical excellence, correct surgical technique and his attention to detail is second to none.

TTR is located at 278 Upper Richmond Road, Putney.

Impulse Spa Clinic – The Daily Herald (press release)

As was mentioned before in the intro, Ive been moving. Theres some sort of special stress that comes from packing up your life to move to another space. Im not exactly sure when I gave up on the boxes, but its fair to assume it was somewhere along the drive to Impulse Spa Clinic at Port de Plaisance. The last issue introduced the readers to Aqua biking. A few months before that were the cryolipolysis treatments the spa had only just started doing. Now the individual aesthetic beauty procedures are fully established. Thanks to their Summer Specials, I was able to treat myself to an hours escape from stress.

I relinquished my clothes for the comfort of the spa slippers and plush robe and could almost feel calmer already. The noiseless spa environment helps to silence the noise in your mind. It can be likened to a place of worship. In here, your thoughts are no longer shouting to be heard over the noise of the daily bustle. The mind is clear and you can focus on self-care in a relaxed atmosphere. Thankfully, the early hour afforded me an even quieter experience. Mind and body were both in synch and ready for the initial sauna.

If youre not sure what a sauna is, its a room filled with steam. This allows someone to experience both wet and dry heat sessions for different purposes. The list of benefits goes on for days. The sauna at Impulse Spa Clinic is a small room used to prep the clients before they receive the massage. It softens the skin, opens the pores and prepares your body to receive the oils and minerals in the pre-massage body scrub. The ladies took the time to explain the full process before I entered the room.

Although Im familiar with what a sauna is and how it works, I wasnt prepared for the effects I felt. It was basically like being in a sensory deprivation tank. At first, there were no sounds, scents or sights beyond the steam. Once the perspiration began to leak out of my body in an uncharacteristic fashion, I could instantly feel everything. Every sense was heightened to the point where I thought I may have developed super powers. Interval showers kept my body from overheating and provided a welcome temperature change. After the sauna, I was treated to a glass of fresh passionfruit juice to rehydrate.

Still sensitive from the sauna, my skin tingled as the organic rub was applied to my skin. Later I would be told that it was a mixture of essential oils, avocado, passionfruit, honey and one other delightful ingredient I wasnt allowed to know. There are plans for the scrub to be weaponized for mass enjoyment, but we will have to wait a few months. Until then, Im probably going to go broke with follow-up scrubs. There has never been a point in my life where I have smelled as delicious as when I washed away the scrub. Moving on to the rub of essential oils sealed in a level of moisture I have been unable to find anywhere else. I glowed for days after.

The ladies at the spa are super friendly, multilingual and provide an incredible service. Impulse Spa Clinic gets the Health & Beauty stamp of approval. Contact them today at 1 (721) 587-8068 or [emailprotected]

Body Contouring Global Market 2017 by Value, Growth, Trends, Analysis & Outlook 2021 – satPRnews (press release)

Body contouring is a procedure that alters the shape of the human body. It includes procedures that eliminate or reduce excess skin and fat that remains after previously obese individuals have lost a significant amount of weight, in a variety of places including the torso, upper arms, chest, and thighs. The urge to achieve perfect body shapes without the need for workouts is quickly promoting the idea of body contouring. A relatively new medical subspecialty, body contouring was developed to address the aesthetic concerns of those who have lost large amounts of weight; whether through dieting alone or with the help of weight loss (bariatric) surgery.

For more information

Depending upon the procedure adopted for body contouring, it can be segmented into three major categories; invasive body contouring, minimally invasive body contouring and non-invasive body contouring. Invasive body contouring includes procedures such as bariatric surgery, arm lift or brachioplasty, breast lift or mastopexy, stomach lift or abdominoplasty and lower body lift. Minimally invasive body contouring includes laser assisted lipolysis and radio frequency assisted liposuction. And non-invasive procedures comprises contouring with the help of suction devices, radiofrequency energy devices, high-frequency focused ultrasound devices, cryolipolysis and low-level light laser therapy devices.

Several factors such as increasing disposable income, rising geriatric population coupled with technological advancement and growing aesthetic awareness are expected to drive growth of the market for the forecasted period. Major trends in the market include market consolidation by acquisition, shift in consumer preferences, more men going for body contouring and transition of customer base. Further, the issues such as strict regulatory environment and high cost of procedures tend to hamper the market growth prospects.

Is DIY fat freezing the future of weight loss? – TNT Magazine

Cryolipolysis, translated to fat freezing, is the weight-loss treatment that is taking over the world. Celebrities, from TOWIEs Bobby Norris to Keeping Up With The Kardashians Khloe, have all admitted to having the non-invasive treatment, which has helped in slimming down their physiques. And while they can afford the cool new treatment, not all of their fans have the funds to splash out on a session of CoolSculpting (as its more commonly known).

Generally when speaking about weight loss, you think of fat burning workouts and foods. But the latest technology, known as Coolsculpting, targets the fat in common problem areas such as the stomach and arms and cools it down to a chilly 4 degrees celsius (blood and water freeze at lower temperatures, keeping the rest of your cells perfectly safe). The cool temperature targets brown fat, which burns calories to generate heat, and keeps your body temperature stable. White fat, on the other hand, is the most abundant type of fat, and keeps your energy levels up.

Fat freezing is non-invasive and so doesnt leave you with scars, like invasive procedures such as liposuction. According to Dr Sarah Shah, coolsculping clients can start to see results in as little as three weeks, with the best sculp results seen after two months. She adds: This fat freezing procedure will continue to work after your last CoolSculpting treatment as your body will still flush out fat cells and continues doing so for up to four to six months after treatment.

But for those who prefer to DIY, there are things you can do at home to achieve similar effects, on a friendlier budget.

The easiest way to cool your body down enough to target the brown fat cells will be to use ice. However, using ice packs is not recommended, as they start off too cold (0 degrees, which can cause frostbite) and warm up too quickly. Instead, its recommended to use a bag of ice which has melted slightly, as this will be just above freezing point, but still cold enough for fat freezing. Using crushed ice in a bag will be best for this, as the bag will contour to the shape of your body, allowing it to target the problem areas easier.

Its important to monitor your skin temperature closely, as you dont want it to drop below 4 degrees, or get too warm that the CoolSculpting is no longer effective. Use a decent thermometer on your skin to make sure you maintain that cool temperature throughout the hour-long treatment.

As the DIY fat freezing technique will be less intense than CoolSculpting, you should do it more often than having the professional treatment. If you follow the treatment for 1-2 hours a few times a week, you should start to see results after a few months, however everyone responds differently to fat freezing.

As with any procedure, non-surgical or otherwise, there are some after-effects that you should be aware of. The CoolSculpting treatment is praised as having no down time, meaning you can go about your everyday activities immediately after the treatment. But clients may notice some side effects, including the skin going red where the treatment took place, which will reduce naturally. Other common side effects include temporary numbness, swelling, and tingling.

Some clients may find that their skin is bruised around the area, but this is due to the CoolSculpting machine lightly vacuuming the skin to target the right problem area. Those who are taking the DIY approach with ice shouldnt have this problem, as the skin is not being tugged.

In a word: yes. CoolSculpting is not a new concept it first came about in 2010, and was then known as cryolipolysis. Since then, technology has advanced enough to effectively slim down figures. Celebrities (including, rumour has it, Britney Spears) opt for fat freezing to get rid of any last pockets of fat to smooth out their figures.

However, most professionals recommend returning for multiple treatments to get the best results. Dr Sarah Shah offers assessments for clients to give the best idea of how many fat freezing sessions you will need to achieve your desired results.

CoolSculpting is also approved by the FDA in America, meaning it must do what it says on the tin, and is scientifically proven to reduce fat in problem areas.

Non-Invasive Fat Reduction Market to Be Driven by the Advancment in Technology for Removal of Abdominal Fat with … – Digital Journal

This press release was orginally distributed by SBWire

Albany, NY — (SBWIRE) — 07/31/2017 — Non-invasive fat reduction treatment is a procedure that eliminates excess fat with the help of non-surgical techniques. The main focus of this treatment is to remove the excess fat that is resistant to diet and exercise. These procedures are performed by specialized doctors, especially plastic surgeons and dermatologists. The latest non-invasive fat reduction procedures are becoming popular as many of the population are looking for perfect appearance which can be achieved by getting rid of the stubborn fat that mainly sticks around the abdomen. The benefit of treatment includes less side effects, but the flip side of these procedures is that they are not useful in cases where there is removal of excess fat. Also, unlike liposuction, non-invasive fat reduction requires multiple procedures and the results are not immediate.

Read the Comprehensive Overview of Non-Invasive Fat Reduction Market:

Lack of stringent regulatory environment and advances in technology that have lesser side effects in usage of the procedure in removing the abdominal fat are likely to increase the acceptance of treatment among both men and women. These factors are driving the global market. The techniques/procedures of non-invasive fat reduction are less complicated, less time consuming with lesser side effects, and provide benefit of offering best results as compared to invasive procedures, which further propel the growth of the market. However, high cost involved in procedures is estimated to be the major restraining factor for the growth of global market. The cost of treatment is high due to the monopolistic approach and hidden procedural expenditure associated with the technologies used. There are number of procedures involved in this treatment which is included in the overall cost.

The global market is segmented by technology, end-user, and geography. Based on technology, the market is segmented into radiofrequency energy, ultrasound energy, and cryolipolysis. Based on end-user, the market is segmented into cosmetology clinics and multi-specialty hospitals. Based on geography, the market is segmented into North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, and Middle East & Africa.

North America dominates the global market owing to increase in people awareness to look perfect. Large number of population is obese due to unhealthy eating habits which include junk foods and more consumption of red meat. Europe is a potential market for treatment. The increased in disposable income in these two regions is a contributing factor for the growth of the market. Asia Pacific is an emerging market for non-invasive fat reduction treatment. The Indian market has a huge potential for the growth of the market. Increasing disposable income and growing desire for perfect image are the two important factors driving the Asia Pacific market. Latin America and Middle East & Africa are slow growing markets due to the high cost involved in these procedures. However, there is huge potential for the growth of market in Latin America and Middle East & Africa with economic development and increasing awareness during the forecast period.

Key players operating in the market include Cynosure Inc., Syneron Medical Ltd., ZELTIQ Aesthetics, Inc., BTL, Cocoon Medical, Invasix Ltd., Thermi, and Venus Concept.
